Monday Update #50

As I already told you last week, for a change I’ve spend (nearly) all of last week at home! We flew back from Paris, where we had spent two amazing days with Longines, at the beginning of the last week. And while I always leave Paris and the Hôtel Plaza Athénée with a bit of a heart ache, I was really looking forward to flying home this time! Alex and I both got to spend some time with our families – me in Hamburg and Alex in Kiel – and we finally managed to buy a bed and a desk! Unfortunately the bed isn’t quite finished yet because we went to that popular furniture store where everyone shops frequently and happily but where also frequently and unhappily one piece or another is missing from the package at home. Thus, our bed is still missing two little but no less essential screws but that is a job for our next home visit. 🙂 Apart from the quality time that we spend with family and friends, we also flew to Dusseldorf for two days for a huge opening. I am a big Saks 5^th Avenue fan and I couldn’t believe it, when I heard that a branch would open in Germany! Saks Off 5^th is a true paradise for everyone who loves the bigs labels and for treasure hunters in general! And because the pieces are from the last season, they are also more gentle on your pocket money! 😉 During our days in Dusseldorf there was a super nice evening event and I had plenty of time to look around and even got to choose my favorite piece! 🙂 I will introduce it to you very soon! Back in Hamburg we spent a lot of time at our (new!) work desk and organized our upcoming trips. And naturally we packed our suitcases again because we will board another plane today and then we will be on the road for the rest of the month.

PLANS:

Today we are heading to Greece for a brand trip. Apart from beautiful Athena we will get to visit two other places on that trips where I have never been before and I am quite excited! Also, we decided that if we already are in Greece we should use the opportunity to visit Zakynthos and thus left a couple of days early. We are flying to Athena today and further on to Zakynthos tomorrow eeeeearly morning! It is a bit hard to get there and therefore we will have to rise and shine early a few times in the next days! 🙂 But I have never been to Zakynthos and I am sure it is beautiful so it will be worth it for sure! Then we will go on the actual Greece trip and afterwards we will fly to the Royal Ascot – isn’t that exciting? The Royal Ascot is the champions league for outfit planners because there are plenty of restrictive dress codes and therefore it is a great opportunity to be creative. But most of all it is the champions league for horses and basically the queen of all horse races – and fittingly it is also all about the royal family! It is the first time in my life that I looked at the queen’s outfits for fashion inspiration. 😉 Obviously we will be there with Longines again and I think it is such a once-in-a-lifetime-opportunity because it is rather hard to get tickets for the Royal Ascot if you are not blue-blooded (and although Alex might be Prince Charming for me, his family tree isn’t up for that ;)).

N E W   I N:

Whenever I am planning to go to Greece, suddenly there is nothing but blue and white in my head! 🙂 Fittingly I found these super cute dresses at RAILS: an off-shoulder one, and one with a low back, as well as a cute striped romper. Also I am excited to say that I will be part of the Jet-a-Porter campaign and got to pick some pieces online that I will combine and show to you soon. While you have to wait for the whole outfit, I can already tell you that one of my favorite pieces was this summerly pair of Chloé sandals. Also, I am still in love with my Sunday Somewhere sunglasses! Also, I found some great new summer dresses at Asos (like this super cute white off-shoulder dress) that I assembled for you below.

And also, it’s finally summer sale at MyTheresa and Net-A-Porter (which I think is amazing, because summer is just starting and you can already shop new favorites with a nice discount!;)). Below you can find some of my wishlist newbies.

Wie schon letzte Woche angekündigt, habe ich diese Woche tatsächlich einmal (fast) komplett in der Heimat verbracht! Am Anfang der Woche sind wir aus Paris wiedergekommen, wo wir ein paar wundervolle Tage mit Longines verbracht haben. Und auch wenn ich Paris und das Hôtel Plaza Athénée immer mit etwas Herzschmerz verlasse, habe ich mich doch wirklich sehr auf Zuhause gefreut. Alex und ich haben beide endlich mal wieder die Chance gehabt etwas Zeit mit unseren Familien zu verbringen – ich in Hamburg und Alex in Kiel – und wir haben tatsächlich endlich ein neues Bett und einen Schreibtisch gekauft. Das Bett steht leider noch nicht ganz, denn ihr kennt das vielleicht: wir waren bei diesem bestimmtes Möbelgeschäft, bei dem man immer häufig und gerne einkauft, bei dem aber auch häufig und gerne mal ein Teilchen fehlt. Und so fehlen unserem Bett noch zwei kleine aber essentielle Schräubchen, aber das ist dann ein Thema für den nächsten Heimatbesuch! 🙂 Neben der ganzen Quality Time, die wir mit Freunden und Familie verbracht haben, waren Alex und ich noch für zwei Tage in Düsseldorf für eine aufregende Neueröffnung. Ich bin ein riesen Saks 5th Avenue Fan und konnte es gar nicht glauben, als ich gehört habe, dass in Düsseldorf endlich ein Abzweiger aufmacht! Saks Off 5th ist ein richtiges Paradies für Fans von Markenstücken und für Schatzsucher! Und da die Stücke der letzten Saison entstammen, wird auch das Portmonee etwas geschont. 😉 Bei der Eröffnung gab es ein super schönes Abendevent und ich hatte genug Zeit mich richtig umzuschauen und durfte mir sogar ein Lieblingsstück aussuchen! 🙂 Das werde ich euch natürlich auch ganz bald vorführen!! Zurück in Hamburg ging es ab an den (neuen!) Schreibtisch und wir haben ganz viel organisiert, geplant und natürlich die Koffer gepackt, denn heute geht es wieder ab ins Flugzeug und für den Rest des Monats sind wir wieder on the road!

P L A N S:

Heute fliegen wir nach Griechenland für einen großen Markentrip. Außer dem schönen Athen werden wir im Rahmen dieses Trips noch zwei andere Orte besuchen, an denen ich noch nie war und ich freue mich wirklich sehr! Lasst euch überraschen! Und wenn wir sowieso schon in Griechenland sind, wollte ich auch endlich einmal nach Zakynthos! Daher haben wir uns ein paar Tage früher auf den Weg gemacht und fliegen heute zunächst nach Athen und morgen ganz früh dann weiter. Leider ist es gar nicht so einfach gute Flüge nach Zakynthos zu bekommen und so werden wir die nächsten Tage sehr oft sehr früh aufstehen müssen. An Zakynthos schließt sich dann der eigentliche Griechenland Trip an. Im Anschluss fliegen wir aufregenderweise zum Royal Ascot. Das Royal Ascot ist die Königsklasse für jeden Outfit-Planer, da es sehr strenge Vorschriften gibt! Da muss man mal richtig kreativ werden! Das Royal Ascot ist aber vor allem die Königsklasse der Pferderennen und passenderweise dreht sich dabei auch alles (abgesehen natürlich von den Pferden) um die Royal Family. Es war das erste Mal, dass ich die Outfits der Queen als Fashion Inspo herangezogen habe. 😉 Natürlich sind wir hier wieder zusammen mit Longines, weshalb ich mich gleich noch einmal doppelt darauf freue. Ich bin mir sicher, dass es ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis wird, da man so ein Event wie das Royal Ascot ohne blaues Blut eigentlich fast gar nicht zu sehen bekommt (und auch wenn Alex Prinz Charming für mich ist, gibt sein Stammbaum das dann doch nicht her ;))!

N E W   I N:

Immer wenn ich plane nach Griechenland zu reisen, habe ich plötzlich nur noch blau und weiß im Kopf! 🙂 Passenderweise habe ich gerade ein paar super süße Kleider bei RAILS gefunden, z.B. dieses off-shoulder Kleid, dieses Kleid mit tiefem Rücken, und diesen gestreiften Jumpsuit. Außerdem freue ich mich Teil der Jet-A-Porter Kampagne zu sein und durfte mir dafür ein paar Teile bei Net-a-Porter aussuchen, die ich bald kombinieren und euch zeigen werde. Ihr müsst euch noch etwas gedulden, aber ich kann euch jetzt schon sagen, dass eins meiner liebsten Teile diese Chloé Sandalen sind. Außerdem bin ich immer noch ganz verrückt nach meiner  Sunday Somewhere Sonnenbrille! Und ich habe ein paar tolle Sommerkleider bei Asos gefunden (wie dieses super süße off-shoulder Kleid), die ich unten für euch zusammengestellt habe.
