Monday Update #51

R E V I E W: Since we were going to go on an amazing trip in Greece in the middle of the last week anyhow, we decided to pack our bags and head to Greece early (unfortunately more wasn’t possible). There are a couple of places in Greece that I’ve been dreaming about for quite a while now but haven’t managed to visit yet. One of them is (or should I say was) Zakynthos! 🙂 Thus, off we went! Getting to Zakynthos wasn’t that easy and we had to fly to Athens the day before and then get on a plane at 6 am. Unfortunately, that was only one of three early morning transfers this week and now I am a bit sleep deprived (I’m just not an early bird and never manage to get into bed in time ;)). But I can tell you: Zakynthos would even be worth setting your alarm clock at 2 am! The island is such a beautiful place and we shot sooo many pictures that I will try and write a separate travel guide about it. Amongst other things, we went on an incredible boat trip, visited shipwreck beach and – since I am a bit of an adventurer – climbed up the cliff to see it from above. 🙂 We also fell for Zakynthos Town and there was a restaurant which was called “Yard of taste” that I simply looooved! We stayed at a little villa and it was so nice and personal there. Also, we got our own car and drove through the streets with music on and our eyes wide open simply stopping wherever we felt like it. I had some true adventurer vibes going on Zakynthos. 🙂

Afterwards we headed back to Athens where our trip with Folli Follie started. Folli Follie had invited us on a special trip with the theme “35 experiences” because it was the brand’s 35^th birthday. There were 6 bloggers from all over the world on the trip and if I recapitulate now, I am definitely counting at least 100 experiences. We started in Athens with a Get-to-know-reach-other breakfast in a hotel with an amazing view of the Acropolis and then went for a stroll through Athens to a beautiful shooting location. At night we had dinner at the Island Restaurant on the coast. The next day the excitement didn’t stop. We jumped on a yacht and headed first to Hydra for a shooting and lunch and then to Spetses. On Spetses we had another shooting, dinner in a beautiful villa in the hills and then got to jump onto my new favorite means of transportation: the heli!:P The days with Folli Follie were filled to bursting with highlights and all the girls on the trip were so nice that I already feels as if it has been months since I’ve written the last Update (and surprisingly given my track record, it’s only been a week)!

P L A N S: Yesterday we took a 6 am ferry again to catch our flight to London in Athens. We headed to London for what might be the most exciting event that I got to visit so far: the Royal Ascot! The Royal Ascot is truly THE royal horse race, not only because the best of the best get to compete against each other here, but because even the queen and Kate attend! Longines is the sponsor of the event and invited us to come and join the fun – I am quite excited! However, the dress code is rather strict and Alex already tried on his suit and he looks a bit like either a (very chic) wizard or a penguin – a very cute one, though! I already had a shooting with Longines today and the race is tomorrow so stay tuned!

Call us crazy, but afterwards we will head back to Greece. Originally we had planned to stay in Greece longer to shoot some great projects but then Longines called and we simply couldn’t miss this amazing opportunity. However, we decided to do the shootings anyhow and just fly back to Greece. I won’t tell you yet where we are going but I can tell you this much: we are heading to one of my favorite places in Greece and to another one where I have never been but which is generally considered to be one of Greece’s highlights!

N E W   I N: With the 35 – 100 experiences this week I didn’t really have the chance to go shopping. But I have a new Sage Aubrey bag  that I love love love! Also, I bought a Zimmermann dress on Net-a-Porter for the Royal Ascot – you might have noticed that Zimmermann is my favorite brand when it comes to the extra fancy occasions. On Net-a-Porter I also bought a Lisa Marie Fernandez dress with pink stripes and a purse made from wicker. Also, sale has only now started, so happy shopping everyone! Even my beloved Tory Burch Garden Print bag is on sale!!!:)

R E V I E W: Da wir wussten, dass wir diese Woche für ein Projekt in Griechenland sein würden, haben wir uns schon zwei Tage früher auf den Weg gemacht (mehr war leider nicht drin ;)). Die Woche haben wir damit direkt in Griechenland gestartet. Es gibt ein paar Orte in Griechenland, von denen ich schon lange träume, aber an denen ich bis jetzt noch nicht gewesen bin. Dazu gehörte auf jeden Fall Zakynthos! 🙂 Und so haben Alex und ich uns auf den Weg gemacht… Die Anreise nach Zakynthos war gar nicht so leicht, da wir bereits am Vortag nach Athen fliegen mussten, um dann am nächsten Morgen seeeeehr früh den Flieger nach Zakynthos zu nehmen. Leider war das nicht das einzige Mal diese Woche, dass der Wecker so früh geklingelt hat, denn wir hatten noch zwei weitere Male einen Transfer im Morgengrauen… jetzt habe ich definitiv ein kleines Schlafdefizit, denn ich bin einfach kein Early Bird und schaffe es NIIIIE zeitig ins Bett. 😉 Aber ich kann euch sagen, für Zakynthos hätte es sich sogar sowas von gelohnt um 2 Uhr nachts aufzustehen!!! Die Insel ist einer der schönsten Orte, an denen ich je war, und ich habe so viele Fotos gemacht, dass ich versuchen werde, noch einen separaten Travelguide mit allen Bildern zu veröffentlichen. Unter anderem haben wir eine tolle Bootstour gemacht und waren am Shipwreck Beach. Ich bin ja ein kleiner Abenteurer und konnte es mir natürlich auch nicht entgehen lassen nach oben zu kraxeln um ihn mir aus der Höhe anzusehen! 😉 Auch Zakynthos Town hat es uns angetan und wir haben hier ein Restaurant gefunden, in das wir uns wirklich verliebt haben (Yard of Taste!)! Wir haben in einer kleinen Villa gewohnt, die super nett und persönlich war und hatten ein Auto mit dem wir mal wieder richtig auf eigene Faust exploren konnten. Ich hatte mal wieder richtige Abenteuer-Vibes! Wir sind mit Musik und offenen Augen durch die Straßen gefahren und haben einfach immer da gehalten, wo es uns gerade spontan gefallen hat! 🙂 Insgesamt war es einfach eine wunder-wunder-wunderschöne Zeit – wenn auch zu kurz! 🙂

Danach ging es dann wieder mit einem sehr frühen Flug zurück nach Athen, wo unser kleines Abenteuer mit Folli Follie begonnen hat. Folli Follie hatte eingeladen zu einem ganz besonderen Trip unter dem Motto „35experiences“, weil es der 35. Geburtstag des Unternehmens war. So waren 6 Blogger von überall aus der Welt mit Folli Follie in Griechenland unterwegs und wenn ich jetzt durchzählen würde, käme ich wahrscheinlich auf mindestens 100 Experiences – tatsächlich habe ich selten so viel in so kurzer Zeit erlebt! Es ging los mit einem Kennenlern-Frühstück in einem tollen Hotel in Athen mit Ausblick auf die Acropolis. Dann sind wir spazieren gegangen und haben an einer wunderschönen Location für Folli Follie geshootet. Abends waren wir im Island Restaurant, einem wunderschönen Restaurant an der Küste, Essen. Am nächsten Tag ging es genauso aufregend weiter: wir sind mit einer Yacht nach Hydra gefahren, haben hier geshootet und gegessen und dann ging es weiter nach Spetses. In Spetses haben wir auch gewohnt und nochmals geshootet. Nach einem erneuten großartigen Abendessen in einer Villa in den Hügeln durfte ich mein vermutlich neues liebstes Transportmittel nutzten: den Heli (Ich liebe es in der Luft zu sein und außerdem mag ich ein wenig Nervenkitzel!:))! Die Tage waren wirklich so prall-gefüllt mit wunderschönen Erlebnissen, dass ich gar nicht sagen kann, was das Highlight gewesen ist! Ich hatte mit Folli Follie wirklich eine aufregende Zeit mit so vielen super lieben Mädels und auch deshalb kommt mir das letzte Monday Update schon so so lange her vor!

P L A N S: Gestern morgen sind wir wieder um 5 los auf die Fähre um unseren Flug von Athen nach London zu bekommen. In London sind wir für eins der vielleicht aufregendsten Events, die ich bis jetzt erleben durfte. Und zwar sind Alex und ich mit Longines beim Royal Ascot. Das Royal Ascot ist quasi das royale Pferderennen – royal nicht nur, weil hier die Besten der Besten antreten, sondern weil selbst die Queen und Kate im Zuschauerraum sitzen! Longines ist Sponsor des Royal Ascots und hat uns eingeladen uns das Spektakel einmal anzusehen und ich bin wirklich aufgeregt! Zum Beispiel dürfen Männer zum Royal Ascot nur im Morning Suit gehen. Alex hat seinen schon anprobiert und sieht entweder aus wie ein (sehr schicker) Zauberer oder wie ein Pinguin – wir haben uns noch nicht final entschieden. 😉 Ihr hört also, es herrscht ein strenger Dress Code! Wir haben heute schon mit Longines geshootet und morgen ist das Rennen, also bleibt dabei! Von London aus geht es dann flix zurück nach Griechenland. Wir hatten eigentlich vor noch länger in Griechenland zu bleiben um einige tolle Projekte zu shooten, aber dann kam die großartige Chance mit Longines! Wir haben daher aber beschlossen noch einmal zurück nach Griechenland zu fliegen. Ich verrate euch noch nicht wohin genau, aber ihr könnt ja schon einmal raten: es geht an einen Ort, den ich wirklich sehr liebe und an einen neuen Ort, an dem ich noch nie gewesen bin, aber der eigentlich ein bekanntes Griechenland Highlight ist!

N E W   I N: Bei den 23 – 100+ experiences in Griechenland bin ich gar nicht richtig zum online shoppen gekommen. Aber ich habe eine neue Tasche von Sage Aubrey, bei der ich das starke Gefühl habe, dass sie einer meiner neuen Lieblinge werden könnte! Außerdem habe ich bei Net-a-Porter ein Zimmermann Kleid für das Royal Ascot bestellt – euch ist wahrscheinlich schon aufgefallen, dass Zimmermann meine Lieblingsmarke ist für ganz besonders schicke Anlässe! 🙂 Und außerdem noch ein rosa gestreiftes Lisa Marie Fernandez Kleid und eine Tasche aus einem Korbstoff. Außerdem hat die Sale Saison gerade erst angefangen, also Happy Shopping euch allen! Selbst meine geliebte Tory Burch Garden Print Tasche ist im Angebot!!! 🙂 xx Leonie
