Yellow is one of those colours that can seem daunting if you aren’t used to wearing it, but there are plenty of shade variations that are flattering rather than overwhelming and will brighten you up rather than wash you out. It’s all about finding the right balance between warm and cool undertones and trying different options out to see what works best for you.
More than ever before, lighter pastel yellows have been rivalling the traditional neutral when it comes to wardrobe staples. If in doubt, go for a paler option as it will appear far more delicate and will be easier to incorporate into your existing wardrobe. This blazer by Blaze Milano and The Frankie Shop shorts are the perfect examples. Paired with cream and beige variations, they’re great for a minimal chic look and once you have this base, you can start to be even more adventurous by adding touches of lemon or even canary yellow accents.
YELLOW SUMMER LOOKS
The colour yellow is synonymous with warmth, joy and happiness, making it the ultimate go-to mood for summer vacay stylings. As you can see from the outfits I opted for below, I well and truly explored the yellow spectrum in my holiday wardrobe this year, from romantic, voluminous dresses to fun swimwear.
As always, accessories are the area where you can really go all out and experiment with colour without it seeming too much. You could either opt for a matching shoe and bag set to really accent your outfit, or just dip your toe in the water while you’re still figuring things out by adding a fresh pair of sunnies -trust me it works if you have a craving to try a new style or trend, plus it’s a super affordable way to test new colours out!
