It was so amazing to return to Milan this season and to be able to experience physical shows again! While digital experiences are so innovative and creative, there is nothing quite like actually being there in the moment and taking in the atmosphere of a live show.
There were so many incredible Spring Summer 2022 collections being shown so I thought it might be helpful to share a short breakdown of the trends I spotted and that I think we will be seeing a lot more of over the coming year.

COLOUR POPS
The likes of Versace, Fendi, Emporio Armani and Prada all used vibrant neon and zesty tones in their SS22 collections. I love infusing my own looks with a pop of colour as it can quickly transform and elevate any outfit, whether you colour block from head to toe or simply add some bright accessories as highlight pieces.

FRINGING
Fringing is a great way to add texture and movement to any outfit, either by subtly incorporating corsetry details like the below blazer from Prada or macrame style fringing from Alberta Ferretti; or by going all out with a 1920s style fringed flapper dress as seen at Fendi.

RELAXED SUITING
Power suits featuring structured blazers and relaxed pants were a big trend last season and I’m happy to see that it’s here to stay! I love the new take on teaming tailoring with a mini skirt to modernise classic workwear style. I’m also excited to try out a few new pastel shades as well as mixing in other fabrics such as the stunning pale pink satin FENDI used.

FEATHERS
A surefire way to make a statement and add extra impact is with feathers. Extravagant plumes were seen throughout Max Mara and No21 in sophisticated neutrals as well as in more vibrant colour palettes like the below turquoise feathered two-piece set.

BANDEAUS
The bandeau bra will be the hero of SS22. Triangular, small crop-tops and bralettes were all over the runways this season, styled with high-waisted pants, miniskirts and oversized blazers or worn alone for a more daring look.
