Chanel FW21 Runway Highlights

Chanel FW21 Runway Highlights

I was so honoured and excited to be invited to my first ever Chanel show this year! The prestigious brand has always been one of my favourites and the house never fails to put on the most spectacular shows. While recent shows have had to be adapted and presented digitally, Chanel really embraced these new challenges and still managed to transport us all through their production masterpieces.

The FW21 show was shot beautifully with snippets of getting ready scenes intermixed with the catwalk itself, using both black & white film and colour reminiscent of the timeless glamour that Chanel is renowned for, with a new modern and mysterious edge displayed via dark, dramatic beauty looks and statement accessories including eye-catching necklaces and iconic chain belts.

For Chanel the style of the modern woman is constantly evolving and I always love to see how it develops each season and tells a new story. Coco Chanel herself initially paved a new way for women’s tailoring, enabling them to feel empowered with their fashion choices and that’s something that really resonates with me today. I will never get enough of the classic tweeds, and feminine chiffon accents perfectly styled with opulent but elegant jewellery.

The two looks below really stood out to me. Not only because of the eye-catching fuchsia pink to brighten up the fall months but also because of the amazing details. If you look closely at the pants, you’ll notice that these aren’t just tailored pants, they have a surprise contrast insert detail at the hem and cargo style pockets embellished with the ‘CC’ chain logo. The second look, featuring foiled logo jeans are definitely going to be a hot trend! Although subtle, the metallic nod certainly elevate the look and add a fun, playful side that will be fun to style.

The collection also had an unmistakable Ski-holiday feel to it, with salopettes style dungarees, modern moon-boots and patterned knits, whose cool crops make them perfect for seasonal layering.

Continuing the ski-vibe, I obviously loved to see all the new puffer options as you know I’ve been really into puffers lately! Chanel played with different lengths, colours and textures with amazing attenion to detail as always. I particularly love the khaki look with the quilted lapel – super chic!

While we’re on the topic of outerwear, I have to mention the finale look. I’ve completely fallen for this stunning gold trench, what about you?
