After I already presented to you my beautiful FeWo Direkt apartment in New York (here), I will show you today my charming apartment in London. In the past months I’d been to London various times and I find the city so diverse, which is why I find it hard to decide which quarter best to stay in. I wanted to live centrally but also close to Notting Hill. Finally, we picked an apartment in Kensington. The determining factor was the apartment’s beautiful interior design and its amazing maisonette style. On the main floor there was the living and dining room and upstairs the apartment had two bedrooms and bathrooms.
Since October Alex and I have been traveling nearly non-stop, which is why I love to stay at an apartment for a change. Surprisingly, staying at a hotel or staying at a FeWo apartment doesn’t really make a big difference budget-wise but the feel is completely different. While I often feel constricted in a hotel room and the rooms sometimes seem too sterile, staying in an apartment makes me feel free and happier. On our first day we went to a grocery story and got tons of fresh food for the fridge so that we did not have to look for a restaurant after a long day. Nevertheless, our apartment was close to Notting Hill and we only had a short walk to our favorite cafés – Farmers Girl and Nama – for brunch. Needless to say both have avocado toast on the menu. Ihr Lieben, heute gibt es endlich eine Fortsetzung meiner ganz besonderen Fashion Week Serie – Nachdem ich euch bereits meine wundervolle FeWo Direkt Wohnung in New York gezeigt habe (hier) folgt heute endlich meine charmante Unterkunft in London.
In den letzen Monaten war ich immer wieder in London und da London so vielseitig ist, fiel mir die Wahl des perfekten Standortes gar nicht so leicht. Ich wollte zentral, aber auch möglichst Nah an Notting Hill wohnen. Unsere Wahl fiel daher jetzt endlich auf ein Apartment in Kensington. Ausschlaggebend für die Entscheidung war die unheimlich schöne Inneneinrichtung des Apartments und der tolle Maisonette Stil. Auf dem unteren Geschoss befanden sich ein Wohn- und Essbereich und oben gab es zwei Schlaf- und zwei Badezimmer.
Seit Oktober sind Alex und ich nun schon so ziemlich durchgehend auf Reise und umso schöner war es während der Fashion Weeks ein eigenes Apartment zu haben. Preislich gibt es nicht einmal große unterschiede zwischen einem FeWo Apartment und einem Hotel, aber das Gefühl ist ein ganz anderes. Während ich mich in Hotelzimmern häufig sehr eingeengt fühle und mir viele Hotelzimmer zu steril sind, fühle ich mich in einem Apartment sehr viel belebter und glücklicher. Wir haben uns am ersten Tag ordentlich eingedeckt und uns leckere frische Sachen in den Kühlschrank gestellt, sodass wir nach einem langen tag nicht noch lange nach Restaurants suchen mussten. Trotzdem lag unser Apartment Nah an Notting Hill und so konnte ich zum Brunchen meine liebsten Cafés – Farmers Girl und Nama besuchen. Natürlich gibt es bei beiden Cafés Avocadotoast – Was soll ich sagen, ich bin eine Serientäterin! 🙂 Ich hoffe euch gefallen die Eindrücke von meiner Wohnung – Alle Infos findet ihr: hier. Yes, I agree with you that the feeling of staying at a hotel or in apartment is different .
For example when I went to NY for the first I booked an apartment because I think that you feel more the city like you’re really living there .
