Monday Update | #12

Happy Easter, dearies,

this is actually my first Monday update this year that I’m writing here at home in Hamburg. Since I’ve used the time at home to relax and hang out with my family, today’s Monday update is for once going to be a little bit shorter then usually. 🙂

R E V I E W: I started into this week in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. We fell in love head over heels with the Hotel La Semilla when we found it online and, thus, decided to stay there for two nights on our way back from Tulum. While I l-o-v-e Tulum, I have mixed feeling about Playa del Carmen: I missed Tulum with its laid-back lifestyle and a love for special and beautiful details, as in Playa del Carmen there were so many more people and it was a lot more international and touristy. For example, you could see American chains like McDonald’s and Victoria’s Secret around every other corner. Although the water was perfectly blue, there were so many people on the beach that Alex and I decided not to go to the beach on our last day, but to explore the city by bicycle instead. On the plus side, however, we found that prices were finally more typical for Mexico and we only had to pay about half for our food and drinks!;) In Playa del Carmen, I especially liked the Rooftop Bar inside the Hotel Be Playa, where guests could have a drink on comfy beanbag chairs or on chairs standing inside the pool. The best food we enjoyed was probably our breakfast in our Hotel La Semilla, where we got fresh fruits and juices, super-delicious granola and banana bread.

All in all, Mexico was one of the best trips I’ve done so far and I can highly recommend a trip to Tulum to each and everyone of you. In the next couple of days, you’ll be able to read even more inside tips on Mexico in my Travelguide as promised!:) The remaining week I spent at home in Hamburg. As I only have about one more week until I’ll leave again on some pretty exciting journeys, I wanted to spend as much times as possible with friends and family. And since my family is a little bit crazy and loves to ‘play’, we did Easter egg hunts on three (!) consecutive days: On Saturday, the weather was so beautiful that we spontaneously decided to have a hunt in a nearby forest, on Easter Sunday Alex was unfortunately ill so that we searched eggs in my parents’ backyard without him and then today, when Alex arrived feeling a little bit better, we started another round. In the unlikely event of a natural catastrophe striking Hamburg tomorrow, I would probably be able to survive just of my Easter chocolate for a long time!;)

P L A N S: The coming week is going to be all about organizing, because we’ll travel some more. Without coming home in between we’ll first fly back to the United States; this time to Dallas, L.A. and to the Coachella Festival and then to Santorini, Greece. Therefore, I have to plan a lot: booking flights (yes, we’re always last minute ;)), researching hotels, organizing my outfits, and, and, and. Nonetheless, I’m super excited for the upcoming new destinations and I will keep you updated here, on Snapchat and on Instagram.

When looking at pictures on Instagram, you probably see the “turn on post notification” messages everywhere. Unfortunately, Instagram will change how it works in the near future (I loved it just the way it was before…). No one really knows how Instagram will work after the changes have taken place, but if you don’t want to miss any of my pictures, you should go to my Instagram account and there are three dots in the top right hand corner of my profile. Click on them and select the option that you’ll be notified once I post something. I truly hope that I will be able to reach everyone of you who likes my pictures in the future – But I’m sure that there is always a way to accomplish this. <3

N E W  I N: As my Gucci Dionysus Bag has been one of my all time favorites for quite some time now, I decided to also get some Gucci shoes. I promise that you’ll get to see them as soon as there is some sunshine outside to take some pictures!:) And since I felt like summer, I fell in love with an incredibly special pair of mules on Luisaviaroma – In L.A. at the very latest, I can hopefully finally wear them! Moreover, I bought an amazing bomber jacket with embroidery on the back and, thus, am so ready for spring to finally arrive!:)

Hallo ihr lieben und frohe Ostern, das ist mein ersten Monday Update in diesem Jahr, was ich in meiner Heimat Hamburg schreibe und da ich die Ostertage für die absolute Entspannung und ordentlich Zeit mit meiner Familie genutzt habe, gibt es heute ausnahmsweise einmal ein kürzeres Update. 🙂

P L A N S: Die kommende Woche heißt es organisieren, organisieren, organisieren, da es für uns wieder auf eine längere Reise geht. Wir werden am stück nach Dallas, LA, zum Coachella und nach Santorini fliegen und daher muss ich ganz viel planen. Flüge buchen (ja, wir sind immer last minute ;)), Hotels recherchieren, meine Garderobe für die längere Zeit organisieren und und und. Ich freue mich aber jetzt schon wie verrückt auf die neuen Ziele und darauf hier und auf Snapchat und Instagram alles mit euch teilen zu können.

Aktuell seht ihr wahrscheinlich auf Instagram überall “turn on post notification” Beiträge. Instagram wird sich leider die Tage etwas ändern (ich habe es genau so geliebt, wie es war ;)). Wie Instagram hinterher funktionieren wird ist noch nicht ganz klar, wenn ihr aber keines meiner Bilder verpassen möchtet, dann könnt ihr auf mein Instagram-Profil gehen, oben rechts die drei kleinen Punkte anklicken und “Benachrichtigungen aktivieren” einstellen. Ich hoffe jedenfalls, dass ich jeden von euch, dem meine Bilder gefallen, auch zukünftig noch erreichen werde – Aber es wird sich sicherlich immer ein Weg finden lassen. <3

N E W  I N: Nachdem meine Gucci Dionysus Bag schon so lange mein absoluter Liebling ist, habe ich mir zum ersten Mal auch ein Paar Schuhe von Gucci bestellt. Ich werde sie bei den ersten Sonnenstrahlen sofort fotografieren und euch zeigen!:) Außerdem war ich ziemlich in Sommerlaune und habe mich bei Luisaviaroma in ein unheimlich besonderes Paar Mules verliebt – Spätestens in LA kann ich sie hoffentlich endlich ausführen. Außerdem habe ich mir endlich eine tolle Bomberjacke mit Stickereien auf dem Rücken bestellt und fühle mich bereit für den Frühling! 🙂
