Monday Update #9

Monday Update #9

I guess I should really think about calling my “Monday Update” “Weekly Update” so that it’s not so obvious, that I’m not managing having everything updated by the end of Monday. And to be honest, I’m really trying hard – I guess it’s the fashion week madness that sometimes makes it’s not that easy to schedule your day and your time in front of the pc. Still, I want to give you a weekly update every week and I can guarantee that I’ll always try to publish it early in the week! 🙂

R E V I E W: It’s been almost a week I’ve spent in Milan and when I closed the door of my apartment for the last time today, I realized that time has been running way to fast. It was already time to leave Italy and I automatically blamed myself for not eating more burrata, trying new pizza places and having more ice cream. Well, sometimes you just can’t have it all. 😉 During fashion week I was living close to the Duomo, which is always a really good idea when in Milan. Even though distances are quite small, traffic can be crazy and it’s not that easy to find the right way considering all these little streets and corners. It might feel like time was running so fast, because there has been going on the past week and really needed to sleep some extra hours today just to store all these impressions… Sometimes when you experience a lot and sleep a little, it feels a bit surreal – But there is nothing sleep couldn’t fix! 🙂

When thinking about the past week, my day with Bulgari was probably the most exciting one. I started working with Bulgari last year and I was super honored and happy, when Bulgari wanted to work with me even more in 2016. Therefore, I visited the Bulgari presentation in the stunning Bulgari Hotel and in the evening I was invited to an exclusive dinner and after party. The location again was the Bulgari Hotel and even the new face of the brand, beautiful model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was there. Together with some  influencers such as Peace Love Shea and Patricia Manfield I had a shooting for the B.Zero1 ring, which was an amazing experience. When the photographer told me to place my fingers sexily on my face, I realized that I should probably start working on some poses! 🙂 I’m not sure whether the result turned out sexy – But I’ll see the pictures soon! 🙂

As I’ve been a hip hop dancer for more than 10 years, another highlight was the Philip Plein show which ended with Chris Brown performing his latest song.  Also Aigner asked me whether it might be interested for my readers to write an article about their show, showing not only runway pictures but also some behind the seen material – and I will share this experience with you later on the blog. I’ve also visited some really inspiring presentations by brands such as Jimmy Choo, Sergio Rossi and Calvin Klein and I will also share these impressions with you as soon as possible. I blocked today for working in my apartment and, therefore, you will find sooo many new articles within the next days! 🙂

But the last week was not only about shows, presentations and meeting with brands, it was also a great opportunity to meet some of my blogger friends from Germany and other parts of the world. I spend most of the time with my German girl Nina (Fashiioncarpet) and I also managed to at least spend a fun evening with my UK girl Tamara (TheGlamAndGlitter) who introduced me to her friends Zanita (ZanitaZanita) and Sandra (5inchandup) and it was un unforgettable evening (it was the same night Leo won an oscar ;)).

Normally I also try to find some good food spots when visiting a city like Milan, but most of the time we had so little time and ended up eating in our apartment. Still, I had some nice aperitivo which is something I would love to have for German eating culture – During happy hour many restaurants such as “GodSaveTheFood” and the Marc Jacobs cafe serve a complimentary buffet when you have a drink. And free Italian food is obviously the best! 🙂 I also found a brunch spot I loved (even though they had no avocado toast :)) – Panini Durini has a few restaurants all over Milan and they serve toasties, waffles, (matcha) capcappuccino and the prices are just sooo good! In Italy you don’t even have to spend 2 Euro on a tasty Cappuchino or Latte, which is probably what I loved most about Milan! 😀 On our last night I realized shortly before midnight that we had no dinner and spontaneously went to Obica, which is located in a food market at the 7th floor of a mall, next to the Duomo. You have a stunning view and as the only burrata they served was a 500grams piece – I truly had the biggest bur rata of my life! 🙂

P L A N S: I have to admit that I do miss my home a little. In 2016 we probably had about 5 days I was staying in Hamburg and especially with limited luggage it becomes a struggle during fashion week. While all of my blogger friends went home after Milan to refresh for Paris, we decided to fly directly to Paris, as we didn’t want to spend more time at the airport! 🙂 On the bright sight, we do have more than one week in the city of love and it’s not a secret, that I’m soooooo in love with Paris. As a teenager I didn’t particularly love Paris when I came here with my parents. My Mom is a History teacher and therefore, we did a lot of historical touristy stuff which is something you probably don’t value enough as a teenager!:) When I came back years later to celebrate my birthday with Alex in summer,  I felt hopelessly for this amazing city. Paris is just stunningly beautiful and spending my birthday here and visiting Disney Land for the first time was one of the best trips of my life! Therefore, being here for more than a week is really not that bad! 🙂 We booked a really huge FeWo apartment, so that also blogger friends of mine will stay with me during the week which will definitely be a lot of fun. For Paris Fashion Week I have a very mixed schedule. Next to presentations, shows and meetings I will work on some exciting projects. I’ll be part of an international campaign with Saranza and I can’t wait to meet the amazing bloggers who will also be part of the project. I will also spend a day with Vestiaire Collective and, moreover, there is an exciting project for Monnier Freres which is one of my favorite online shops for bags and shoes!:) Besides this projects my most exciting appointment is a dinner with Cartier. Cartier is doubtless one of the most precious brands in the luxury section and getting to know the brand is such an honor. I will definitely try to share as much of Paris with you as possible and after Paris I go home to change my luggage for some relaxing days in Tulum – I’m already super excited! 🙂

N E W  I N: When I was just about to enter the aircraft in Milan, I saw on Instagram that Balenciaga restocked my favorite boot ever and that these boots are available in their boutique in Paris. I directly called and asked them to save a pair for me. Alex and I directly drove to the boutique and for the first time ever, I bought such a special item without over thinking it for days or even weeks! 🙂 But I mean – It sure was meant to be! 🙂 For the Monnier Freres project I also selected a bag which is SO gorgeous, I cannot wait to show it to you in a few days! Also a blogger friend of mine gave me the tip to check Topshop more often for killer heels and I found four pairs I can’t really decide which one I love the most – Black ones with feathers, ethno ones, fringe ones or bowed ones. They are really nice, aren’t they? 🙂

I’m sending you loads of kisses from P a r i s  and I’m looking forward to reading from you. Salut mes amies, Leonie <3
