Shopping Inspo: Santa, Baby!

Half of the doors of my advent calendar are open and that means the Christmas countdown has started!! I am not one of the lucky ones who started Christmas shopping in June because they were looking ahead. I must admit in the past years one might have caught me pacing through the shops on the Holy morning with a slightly panicked look on my face. 😉 This year I’ve been travelling for most of December and if it wasn’t for the miracle called online shopping my Santa’s bag would probably still be empty. For those of you who share my lack of organizational skills when it comes to Christmas, I have assembled here the results of my hours of online Christmas browsing! Or as the ABOUT section of my blog should read now: Hi, I’m Leonie – personal style and travel blogger and Santa’s little helper! 🙂

Word travelers

Not only myself but many of my friends and family members are travel addicts. The good news are: travel addicts open up a whole new category of gift possibilities!!!

Wanderlust for collectors: Travel addicts collect travel destinations like others do stamps. This cork world map is not only wall decoration but also helps those who travel like crazy to keep track of where they’ve been and what’s still left to see. Others might like to put the good memories right on the tree – I had a hard time deciding which glass baubles I loved more: Paris or NYC – always a tough choice! 😉 Why not give away inspiration for the next trip: for example with the lonely planet “Worldtrip”.

Travel in style: For friends who prefer exploring the streets of Paris, New York and Milan to Asian rice terraces (which are usually extremely muddy ;)), these travel-essentials are always a good idea. Shoes that look stylish but in which one can walk for a day without getting a blister such as the Miu Miu lace-up ballet shoes, which I am totally addicted to (you might have spotted them on several of my Instagram pics from around the world), or a small backpack that lets you carry the essentials without giving you scoliosis. 😉

Always wrapped up neatly: this time I mean the travel essentials not the presents. With travel addicts you can never go wrong with a new sturdy suitcase (e.g. this Samsonite Trolley) or something to protect the most important travel companion: the passport! Those who love (and shop) always need more luggage – let me tell you! 😉

 

Fashion lovers

For Shopaholics (as in Sophie Kinsellas books, which I used to get for Christmas when I was a teenager) Christmas is always a good opportunity to upgrade the closet without straining the wallet. 🙂 And since everybody loves to give what they themselves would like to get, I assembled some of my favorites. I am soo into ruffles at the moment and two beautiful examples are this striped jacket and the pink dress. You can make yourself (or a friend) look like a present with this artful Dama Danzante top. And for cozy winter days, I always love a nice sweater and a pair of jeans! 🙂

She who has it all

For those who have it all, you have to find something very special – or something you cannot have enough of.  In this case I like to go for good materials such as cashmere – examples are this warm sweater or the cute cap. Also, every woman can own not only one but several “little black dresses”, especially if they have a bow on them! The same can be said for black boots and bags! Some special pieces are the scarf with hearts by Gucci, these velvet suede ballerinas with a Christmassy vibe, the black tasseled Asos bag or the Gucci padlock bag for a big budget. Or something totally different: I came across this Chanel book collection or a Christmas outfit for one’s phone?!

Forgot to mention one little thing

– a ring! Eartha Kitt sang it in the 50^th in the evergreen “Santa, Baby” and it is still true today. You can never go wrong with jewelry.  If you want to invest in a piece of jewelry that is supposed to last for years to come, you should make sure that you know the presentee’s taste! Or you can go with a timelessly beautiful piece that is also discreet and thus meets everyone’s taste.  One example for this is the filigree bronze bracelet by Skagen which is part of the Skagen Holiday collection. If you are looking for something special for mom (and moms always deserve something special) you can never go wrong with pearls! Also, if you don’t want to wrongly raise hope (or fear) under the Christmas tree you should go for bracelets or necklaces rather than a ring! 😉 And since we are less conservative than in the 50^th,  jewelry today can also be worn on your feet – with these golden flats in suede or the alternative for a smaller budget – or over your shoulder – for example with this Metal Saddle bag. 🙂

Die Hälfte der Adventskalendertürchen steht offen und der Weihnachtscountdown hat begonnen! Ich muss gestehen, dass ich nicht zu den Glücklichen gehöre, die schon im Sommer vorausschauend mit dem Weihnachtsshopping begonnen haben  und ich bin auch durchaus schon am Heiligmorgen leicht panisch in der Innenstadt erwischt worden. Dieses Jahr habe ich den Großteil der Weihnachtszeit nicht in Deutschland verbracht und so hätte ich mir wohl den Wecker am 24. wieder früh stellen müssen, wenn es nicht das heutige Wunder des Onlineshoppings gäbe. 😉 Für all die von euch, bei denen Santas Geschenkbeutel auch noch erschreckend leer ist, habe ich die Ergebnisse meiner stundenlangen Geschenkerechereche hier gesammelt! World traveler

Nicht nur ich, sondern viele Mitglieder meiner Familie und meines Freundeskreises fühlen sich vor allem in der Ferne Zuhause. Ich kenne ein paar richtige Reisejunkies und die gute Nachricht ist: sie eröffnen einem eine ganz neue Sparte an Weihnachtsgeschenksoptionen!!!

Fernweh für Sammler: Reisejunkies sammeln Reiseziele häufig wie andere Briefmarken. Diese Kork-Weltkarte ist nicht nur eine Wanddeko mit Fernwehgarantie, sondern hilft auch, dass man nicht vergisst, was man schon von der bucket list abgekreuzt hat. 😉 Oder man hängt sich die Urlaubserinnerung gleich direkt an den Weihnachtsbaum – ich könnte mich gar nicht entscheiden, ob es NYC oder Paris sein soll!! Und weil eine ordentliche Sammlung auch ständig erweitert werden muss, kann man auch gleich die Inspiration fürs nächste Reiseziel verschenken, z.B. mit dem Lonely Planet Buch „Weltreise“.

Reisen mit Stil: Für Freunde, die Städtereisen nach NY, Paris oder Mailand asiatischen Reisterrassen vorziehen (denn letzte sind in der Regel sehr matschig), sind diese travel-essentials immer eine gute Idee: stilvolle Schuhe, in denen es sich aber einen ganzen Tag ohne Blasen laufen lässt – wie meine Lieblinge, die Miu Miu lace-up Ballettschuhe – oder ein Rucksack, in dem sich das wichtigste verstauen lässt, von dem man aber nicht gleich Skoliose bekommt 😉

Immer gut verpackt: ausnahmsweise meine ich jetzt das Gepäck und nicht die Geschenke. 😉 Ob das Reisegepäck in diesem Samsonite Trolley oder der wichtigste Reisebegleiter: der Reisepass! Wer viel reist (und noch mehr shoppt), kann immer ein neues Gepäckstück gebrauchen! Lasst euch das von mir sagen…

 

Fashion Lovers

Für Shopaholics (wie die Hauptperson der Sophie Kinsella Bücher, die ich als Teenager zu Weihnachten bekommen habe) ist Weihnachten DIE Gelegenheit den Kleiderschrank aufzufüllen ohne das Portmonee (selber) zu belasten! 🙂  Weil man ja am liebsten verschenkt, was man am gerne selber hätte, habe ich hier ein paar meiner momentanen Lieblinge aufgeführt. Da es mir Rüschen momentan angetan haben, sind mir dieses gestreifte Jäckchen und das pinke Kleid sofort ins Auge gefallen. Sich selber als Geschenk verpacken, kann man mit dem Dama Danzante Top. Und für kuschelige Wintertage auf dem Sofa, liebe ich den Look aus Jeans und Kuschelpulli! 🙂

 

She who has it all

Bei Frauen die alles haben (und ich kenne wirklich viele Frauen, die extrem viel horten ;)), muss man schon ein außergewöhnliches Teil finden, oder eben etwas, wovon man nie genug haben kann, 🙂 Hier greife ich häufig zu guten Materialien, wie zum Beispiel einem Cashmere Pulli oder einer Cashmere Mütze. Das kleine Schwarze kann bei jeder Frau nicht nur einmal, sondern viele Male im Kleiderschrank hängen. Das selbe gilt für schwarze Boots und Taschen! 😉 Außergewöhnliche Stücke sind z.B. der Gucci Schal mit Herzen, die bestickten Samt Ballerinas mit weihnachtlichem Flair, die Fransentasche von Asos oder die Gucci Padlock bag für das große Budget. Oder mal was ganz anderes: die Chanel Buchsammlung oder ein Weihnachtsoutfit für das Handy?

 

Forgot to mention one little thing…

… a ring! Wie schon Eartha Kitt in den 50ern gesungen hat, steht bei viele immer noch Schmuck ganz hoch auf der (Wunsch-)Liste! Wenn man investiert in Schmuck von dem der/die Beschenkte auch mehrere Jahren etwas haben soll, sollte man sich immer sicher sein den Geschmack des Beschenkten gut genug zu kennen. Oder man sollte zu zeitlosen schlicht-schönen Stücken greifen. Und wer nicht falsche Wünsche/Ängste unter dem Weihnachtsbaum wecken möchte, greift statt zum Ring vielleicht lieber zum Armband oder einer Kette. 😉 Das filigrane bronze farbende Armband aus der Skagen Holiday Collection ist eins dieser unaufdringlich schönen Schmuckstücke mit dem man fast jedermanns Geschmack trifft. Wer etwas Besonderes für Mutti braucht (weil Muttis immer das Besonderste verdient haben!!!) liegt mit Perlen nie daneben. Und weil wir heute ja nicht mehr so konservativ wie in den 50ern sind, kann man Schmuck heute auch an den Füßen tragen – wie mit diesen Samtballerinas oder der Alternative für ein kleineres Budget – oder um die Schulter – z.B. mit dieser Metal Saddle Bag.
