MONDAY UPDATE #43

My dear ones, this week I was thinking back and forth about just skipping the update because I have so many unpublished posts piling up that I still want to share with you. BUT to be honest I love writing the Monday Update! You might have realized that for a “Social Media person” I do need a significant amount of off-periods. 😉 Especially after a trip abroad I like to have two or three days where I turn off Snapchat and Instagram stories so that I can concentrate on family, friends, and organizational stuff. But since that means that I sometimes share less of my personal life on my channels than other bloggers, it is important to me to try and at least give you a little update on what is going on here on the blog in my “Monday” (Tuesday, Wednesday, …)  update. 🙂 So I hope you will forgive one more time for my slight delay!

R E V I E W:

Sometimes things work out different from how you had planned them initially and thus I will be in New York twice over the short period of two weeks. I have told you before that I have quite a long love story with New York. Somehow I always ended up in this city when something important was about to or had just happened in my life. New York was the first stop of the trip around the world that I did after I had finished school. I also stopped here on my way to an abroad internship after my most difficult break-up, and it was the first place I visited after I had quit my job to be able to concentrate entirely on my blog… Also, Alex’s birthday happens to be during the New York Fashion Week in autumn and the Valentine’s day during the Spring season. To cut a long story short: New York holds some important memories for me!

As always, my recent visit to New York was very special for me because I was there with one of my favorite brands – Dior! Miss Dior Cherie was the first premium scent that I bought while studying and is still my absolute number 1 (and also Alex’s number 1, which I guess is just as important ;))! That is why I was very excited to be a part of the launch of the new Dior scent, POISON GIRL, in New York! You can read all about my trip: here. The new perfume has a beautiful pink flacon, a young, playful, and flowery scent, and because of the wonderful time we had with Dior in New York, it will always remind me of this amazing city, the night at the POISON CLUB and of the beautiful pink bouquet of roses that Dior had sent to my hotel room the first morning. I had some amazing days with Dior in New York and I am looking forward to future adventures together!

And for a change we will head next to … New York! 😉  We barely had time to repack once back in Germany before we headed back to the airport for the New York Fashion Week. To be honest I have a bit of mixed feelings about that. Although I love exploring the world and traveling around, I have lately fallen so much for Europe! The scenery in Santorini, the colorful houses of Cinque Terre and the winter wonderland in Austria – it all reminded me of just how much beauty, diversity, and culture we have just in front of us. And maybe also because of the tense political situation in the US, for the first time I am not that thrilled to be in New York. On the other hand I have some great projects planned for the upcoming days and I am looking forward to seeing some of my friends such as Brittany and Michelle again, whom I don’t get to see that often because of the long distance (Hamburg – LA). Also, I am lucky to be on board of the Lufthansa Fashion Flight, which I will tell you all about on Snapchat and Insta Stories starting today. 🙂 As every season I have blocked a big chunk of my time for the team around Tory Burch and I also have a couple of great shows lined up such as Michael Kors, Lacoste, and my beloved Zimmermann. I am sure the Zimmermann show will be one of my highlights because I love the brand and if I only could, I would spend every day in one of their beautiful long flowery dresses! 🙂 Apart from that I always try to apply a “Less is More” approach when it comes to the usually stressful New York Fashion Week. Thus, I will only attend my absolute favorite shows and events to be able to fully enjoy them. I have learned a lot about myself in the past year working on the blog and I know that I am always happiest when I have time to experience things deliberately and have enough space to think freely and creatively amongst the people who inspire me and make me happy. Especially in times like the Fashion Week I will try to keep that in mind and not to turn into a crazy hen that is being shooed from A to B (but I bet there will be some chicken dance going on none the less ;).

After New York we will have a quick stop in LA, where we have some meetings and events before I will had back to Hamburg for a very special project. 🙂 I don’t want to give too much away just yet but I can’t help but tell you already that I will be working on my first project with Chanel!!!! What can I say – when I started working on the blog, I always dreamed to one day be able to buy myself a Chanel bag. Thus, I find it hard to believe that I will create something beautiful with the brand and I promise you that I will tell you more about it next week! I am so excited! 🙂

N E W I N: While finishing this update I am already sure that I will have a hard time going to sleep tonight. First of all because I had my family here today and we finally managed to put up the new closets for my bags and shoes and, secondly, I am hoping that the postman will ring the doorbell tomorrow before we leave for the airport because I am waiting for my life saving Net-a-Porter package! 🙂 The same as during the last international fashion weeks I am working together with Net-a-Porter this season and I hope that I will have some true highlights for my suitcase if the package arrives in time. 🙂 I also bought some inexpensive pieces such as a pair of nerd glasses (for less than 20€ :)), a hoodie with a loose hemline, and a pair of jeans with bows. Because of the fashion weeks I spend quite a bit more time in the online shops than usually and I also updated my shop section and put in some new links. One of my favorites in definitely a pink coat I’ve been wearing all the time in New York (as you can see below ;))!

Ihr Lieben, diese Woche habe ich ehrlich gesagt hin und her überlegt, ob ich aufs Update verzichten sollte, da ich noch soooo viele offene Posts habe, die ich mit euch teilen möchte. ABER ich liebe die Monday Updates einfach! Für jemanden, der Social Media macht, bin ich wie ihr sicherlich bemerkt habt, jemand, der immer zwischendurch seine off-Phasen braucht. 😉 Gerade nach einem Trip ins Ausland schalte ich gerne für zwei, drei Tage Snapchat und Instagram Stories aus und konzertiere mich auf Family, Friends, Organisation, etc. Und da ich dadurch im Vergleich zu anderen Bloggern wenig teile, freue ich mich umso mehr euch wenigstens einmal die Woche im Update alles zu erzählen, was grade ansteht! 🙂 Also hoffe ich ihr seht mir mal wieder meine kleine Verzögerung nach und tadaaa: hier ist das Update! 🙂

R E V I E W:

Manchmal kommt es anders als zunächst geplant und so bin ich innerhalb von zwei Wochen gleich zwei Mal in New York. Wie bereits vor längerer Zeit berichtet, habe ich wie schon eine längere Liebesgeschichte mit New York. Ohne es bewusst zu merken, war ich immer dann in der Stadt, die niemals schläft, wenn sich etwas Gravierendes in meinem Leben geändert hat. New York war der erste Stopp meiner Weltreise nach dem Abitur, ein Stopp auf dem Weg zu meinem Auslandspraktikum nach meiner schwierigsten Trennung und Anlaufpunkt als ich meinen Job gekündigt habe, um mich mehr auf den Blog zu konzentrieren… Zusätzlich fällt jedes Jahr Alex Geburtstag auf die New York Fashion Week im Herbst und Valentinstag auf die New York Fashion Week im Frühjahr. Lange Rede kurz: New York hat eine besondere Bedeutung für mich! 🙂

Auch dieses Mal war New York besonders für mich, denn ich war mit einer meiner liebsten Marken vor Ort, mit Dior. Miss Dior Cherie war das erste hochwertige Parfum, das ich mir im Studium gekauft habe und ist auch heute meine absolute Nummer Eins (und die Nummer eins von Alex, also werde ich zusätzlich stark beeinflusst ;))! Umso mehr habe ich mich gefreut in New York beim Launch des neuen Duftes POISON GIRL dabei zu sein! Alles über meinen Trip mit Dior findet ihr: hier. Der neue Duft hat einen schönen pinken Flakon, riecht jung, verspielt und blumig und dank der tollen Zeit mit Dior wird er mich immer an New York, eine unvergessliche Nacht im POISON CLUB und an den wunderschönen pinken Strauß Rosen erinnern, den ich am ersten Morgen von Dior auf mein Zimmer geschickt bekommen habe. Es waren einige wundervolle Tage und ich freue mich jetzt schon auf alle kommenden Abenteuer mit Dior!

Und zur Abwechslung geht es… zurück nach NY! Gerade in Deutschland angekommen, packe ich meine Koffer für die New York Fashion Week und ehrlich gesagt habe ich etwas gemischte Gefühle. So sehr ich gerne in die Welt hinausziehe, so sehr habe ich mich in den letzten Monaten auch in Europa verliebt! Die Views in Santorini, bunten Häuser in Cinque Terre und das Winterwunderland in Österreich – Mir ist nochmal so bewusst geworden wieviel Schönheit, Vielfalt und Kultur wir genau vor unserer Nase haben und rund um die gesamte politische Situation fühle ich mich zum ersten Mal nicht so richtig von New York angezogen… Auf der anderen Seite habe ich für die kommenden Tage wirklich schöne Dinge geplant und freue mich unendlich darauf tolle Freundinnen wie Brittany und Michelle wiederzusehen, die ich aufgrund der Entfernung (Hamburg – LA) nicht zu häufig sehen kann. Außerdem bin ich Teil des Lufthansa Fashion Flight, von dem ich euch ab Morgen ganz viel auf Snapchat und Insta Stories zeigen werde. 🙂 Wie jede Saison werde ich extra viel Zeit mit dem Team rund um Tory Burch verbringen und ein paar tolle Shows wie z.B. Michael Kors, Lacoste und mein geliebtes Zimmermann besuchen. Gerade auf die Zimmermann Show freue ich mich ganz besonders, da ich die Marke unheimlich gerne trage und am liebsten täglich in langen, blumigen Kleidern rumlaufen würde! 🙂 Ansonsten versuche ich die häufig stressige Zeit in New York nach dem Motto „Weniger ist Mehr“ zu gestalten und werde nur zu meinen allerliebsten Shows gehen und mir für die besonderen Dinge etwas mehr Zeit lassen. Im letzten Jahr habe ich durch das viele Reisen wirklich viel über mich rausgefunden. Ich bin immer dann am glücklichsten, wenn ich Dinge bewusst erlebe, Raum zum kreativ Denken und Freisein habe und mich mit den Leuten umgeben kann, die mich inspirieren und glücklich machen. Auch bei etwas intensiveren Zeiten wie den Fashion Weeks möchte ich mich genau auf diese Erkenntnis besinnen und nicht wie ein aufgeschrecktes Huhn von A nach B laufen (und ich wette, es wird sooo schwer nicht doch zum Huhn zu werden! ;)).

Von New York aus geht es dann für einen kurzen Zwischenstopp nach LA, wo wir einige Termine und Events haben, bevor ich für etwas ganz Besonderes nach Hamburg zurück kehre. 🙂 Ich möchte euch noch nicht zu viel verraten, MUSS euch aber erzählen, dass ich an meinem ersten Projekt mit Chanel arbeiten werde!!!! Was soll ich sagen… als ich mit dem Bloggen angefangen habe, hatte ich gehofft mir irgendwann durch harte Arbeit eine Chanel Tasche kaufen zu können. Jetzt kann ich es wirklich kaum glauben, dass ich gemeinsam mit Chanel etwas Schönes produzieren werde und ich verspreche euch, euch nächste Woche mehr zu verraten! Ich freue mich jedoch ganz, ganz doll und bin ehrlich jetzt schon aufgeregt! 🙂

N E W  I N:

Ehrlich gesagt werde ich diese Nacht vor Aufregung bestimmt kaum ein Auge zubekommen. Erstens hatte ich heute meine Family zu Besuch und wir haben endlich meine neuen Schränke für meine Taschen und Schuhe aufgebaut, so dass sie endlich einen dankbaren Platz haben, und zweitens, hoffe ich, dass morgen früh bevor wir zum Flughafen huschen noch der Postbote klingelt und mir das Paket meiner Lebensretter, Net-A-Porter, bringt. 🙂 Wie schon während der letzten internationalen Fashion Weeks arbeite ich mit Net-A-Porter zusammen und habe dann hoffentlich einige neue Highlights in meinem Koffer. 🙂 Außerdem habe ich mir auch ein paar preiswerte neue Goodies wie eine Nerd Brille (für unter 20€ :)), einen Kapuzenpulli mit ausgestelltem Saum und eine Jeans mit Schleifen bestellt. Wegen der Fashion Weeks war ich ein bisschen intensiver am Stöbern in den Onlineshops und habe auch ein paar neue Teile in meinem Shop Bereich verlinkt. Eins meiner neusten Lieblingsteile ist auf jeden fall ein Mantel in “intensivem Pink”, den ich in New York rauf und runter getragen habe. 🙂
