Weekly Update #48

Weekly Update #48

*Anzeige

R E V I E W:

P L A N S:

N E W  I N :

Xx Leonie

My dear ones, I am finally sitting on the plane and after I have caught up on soooo much sleep, it is now time to open up my laptop and give you a little life-update.

R E V I E W:

Despite the fact that I have by now developed a thick skin when it comes to long distance flights and skipping between time zones, the last week was more extreme than anything before. From Thailand we headed to Abu Dhabi and from there directly to Courchevel, France, where Fendi had invited me to attend the official launch of their new leisure wear line. Coming from the Asian time zone and 40 degree back to Europe and temperatures below freezing was sooo confusing! Also while I arrived in Geneva on my way to France safely, my luggage did not… But as soon as I sat in the car heading to Courchevel all the trouble was forgotten. Snowy mountains are simply magical and I was so excited for the upcoming weekend to be spend with Fendi and press from all over the world skiing. 🙂 Also, believe it or not, I had never been skiing before! I will tell you all about my Courchevel trip with Fendi (and my first attempts on the skis) some other time. There are still a couple of hours on the plane ahead of me and I want to use them to write many many many blog posts! 🙂

Back home I only had one day to mentally and suitcase-wise prepare for what was literally going to be a trip around the world. Also it was my dad’s birthday AND Alex and I had finally hit the 1 million followers mark on Instagram. Therefore, we invited the whole family for dinner and it was such a nice day at home! I must say I have the most amazing and sweet family and I was so moved by their enthusiasm to see us during my one day at home. My older sister drafted some Sydney tips for me and helped me find a last-minute hotel for the first time and my mom and my younger sister helped me pack my suitcase. Only the birthday boy (my dad) was allowed to have some relaxing time while choosing his favorite restaurant for the night and unwrapping presents. 😉 Later at my favorite Italian restaurant we celebrated the 1 million instagram followers! I had been anxious because of that milestone for a couple of days already. The last weeks had been the craziest adventure and suddenly the 1 million seemed to be within reach without me noticing that it was approaching so quickly. I talked to my little sister and said that I somehow didn’t know how to react. On the one hand I was sooo happy and also proud but on the other hand it seemed as if it was only a number – and does that really matter in life? But my sister said – and I now believe that she is right – that since there aren’t any promotions in a blogger’s career path, you have to create opportunities to stop and appreciate all that has been happening and celebrate it. If not the 1 million, what then? Afterwards she wrote a surprise congratulation text on Instagram because she knew that I was stressing out a bit about it and to be honest it moved me to tears. And finally I was really able to celebrate it and to appreciate what a blessing and what a crazy amazing thing this is – and all of you are! During the last crazy days Alex and I still haven’t managed to find the time and go out and toast properly, but we are still planning to do so! Maybe in LA?! 😉

And off we went again… For an amazing campaign with Longines Alex and I headed to the other end of the word – to Australia. I’d been in Australia once before during my trip around the world and I truly fell in love with this beautiful continent. The Australian people are so kind and open, the nature and the animals are so different from anywhere else in the world and even the food in phenomenal. If I wasn’t such a huge Europe fan, I would emigrate to Australia right away! 😉 Thus, after the loooooooongest flight, we arrived in Sydney. And I was so torn between the excitement and joy of finally being back here and the desire to just skip everything else afterwards and stay here for longer than the simply too short 4 days. 😉 Luckily, we were able to arrive one day before the actual job started and we had time to take a stroll along Bondi Beach, eat the most tasty brunch in the world and to have some touri-time at the opera. The next day the program with Longines started and I must say I had such an unforgettable time! For the launch of the new Master Collection Blue I had a photo and video shoot in the Sydney harbor in front of the opera together with Adam Gallagher and Amanda Shadforth. The next day we were picked up by a helicopter and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Stack Day and both days we had the most amazing food and the whole team was sooooo nice and created such a pleasant and old familiar atmosphere. I must say during our last day in Sydney the wrench of leaving was so bad and only the though of the great things that lay ahead made it a bit easier to board the plane again. However, I cannot stop telling you about the Sydney trip without saying again what a great place to live Sydney is and as soon as there is time I would love to explore Australia more! There was another thing I LOVED about this trip: I was staying at the Shangri-La in Sydney, a hotel which has been on my bucket list for quite a long time! I’ve been staying at the Shangri-La in London as well as Abu Dhabi before and the views of the Shangri-La hotels have always kept me speechless! And again the Shangri-La in Sydney totally wowed me! We had a view on the Harbour Bridge AND the opera! I loved sitting next to the window, feeling the warm sun while enjoying this amazing view! No wonder we had breakfast in our room most of the time, right!? Also the hotel had the perfect location and we could easily reach some of the  top sights as well as some of the best malls (which was very helpful because I didn’t pack well for all the trips ;)).

After that Alex and I found ourselves sitting in the airplane on our way to LA, closer to finishing the full circle: Hamburg – Sydney – LA – Hamburg… in only 2 weeks Alex and I have made the whole trip around the world. Luckily by now I enjoy sitting on the plane and there is no place where I can work, relax and power-off better. Unfortunately, I will soon have watched the whole on board program… 😉

With a stop over in Seoul we arrived in LA for Coachella-ella-ella ey! For the first time I experienced the festival as a part of the Revolve gang and I was pretty excited about that. Revolve always plans the most amazing trips and events for bloggers. I have been to Revolve parties in the past but I was super thrilled to be part of the Revolve family now. 🙂 Also, during the past year I have met sooo many great bloggers from all over the world and while everything was a bit overwhelming and new last year, I was now looking forward to the big reunion! 🙂 The last days have been extremely busy, exciting and intense and, therefore, I decided to wrap up my time in LA and in Palm Springs with Revolve in a separate post! 🙂

P L A N S:

Since the last weeks have been such a marathon, Alex and I spontaneously decided to change our flights and stay a little longer in Palm Springs and LA. I totally forgot how much I love Palm Springs and the area around and I was keen to book a few nights in a small boutique hotel to get some rest! Also so many of my blogger friends are still in LA and I loved the idea to take some time to work on the blog (sorry for the complete lack of new posts :O), meet friends and enjoy some alone time with Alex before the craziness will continue… 😉

N E W I N:

For Coachella I have ordered a couple of cute dresses and jumpers as well as matching sandals at Revolve. Also, I used the time in Australia to shop some brands located there and I bought two amazing Zimmermann pieces that will also be part of my Coachella wardrobe. 🙂 Also I’ve been browsing for Coachella outfits a lot online and I have assembled some of my favorite festival pieces here:

I am sorry that my postings come at a rather unreliable pace lately, but I hope you can understand it with everything that has been going on lately. But I am truly always so happy to read all of your comments and thankful for all your support!! Xx Leonie
