MONDAY UPDATE #19

My dear ones, the past week has been an incredible marathon. Despite the fact that I won’t be able to share everything with you just yet, I definitely want to give you some impressions.

R E V I E W: I started into the past week with a shooting trip to Mallorca. My agency had booked a beautiful finca in Pollenca in the northern part of Mallorca, where I spent a couple of eventful days with some other bloggers and Alex. My highlight was definitely a shooting with Net-A-Porter. I told you a little about it in last week’s update. Apart from that I enjoyed exploring Palma once more.

I strolled along the harbor, enjoyed the views of the cathedral, and ate a tasty avocado toast at La Molienda. Pollenca itself was charming as well. We had some bad luck with the weather but nevertheless it was nice to stroll through the village’s narrow alleys and to climb the numerous stairs and viewpoints. The probably most beautiful shooting location was the bay Calo des Moro. It took us nearly 1:30 hours to get there from the island’s north (despite the fact that Mallorca isn’t too big ;)) but both the turquoise water and the reddish rocks were worth the trip. I’ve already got some of the pictures and look forward to showing them to you in the next days. 🙂

From Mallorca I flew to Zurich. Here we had another shooting with Sarenza scheduled. Unfortunately the weather in Zurich was awful. We did our best but nevertheless hid out in cafés most of the time. J That was one more reason for me to look forward to Cannes after the short stop in Zurich. Although I had been to Southern France several times as a child, I had never been to Cannes, and that was why I was so excited to fly there for the film festival. I was thrilled when Elie Saab invited me. I consider Elie Saab to be one of the most glamorous and luxurious brands in the world.

As you can imagine I was so happy to have the opportunity to spend two days with the label. We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Martinez, which is one of the prime spots for stars and starlets during the film festival.

For example, Blake Lively stayed here while we did and there was always a big crowd gathered in front of the hotel. 😉 Elie Saab had planned busy days for us. First, I got to meet Francis Kurkdjian, who is the “nose” of Eli Saab. He presented to me some of the most important fragrances of the brand, among others the new fragrance “Rose Couture”, which I felt for immediately. Afterwards we had an amazing lunch right next to the sea and then I was shown the new Ready-to-Wear and Haute Couture collections. What can I say? The Haute Couture pieces were breathtakingly beautiful and I probably spent more than half an hour simply feeling fabrics and looking at decorative stitches.

When I came back to my room hair and make-up was already waiting for me and I was styled for my first big Red Carpet Event. After a fitting with Eli Saab we had a delicious dinner and afterwards drove right to the Red Carpet. We watched “I, Daniel Black” – a socio-critical and sad movie. I enjoyed watching the screening together with the actors who were obviously moved by it. At night I fell into bed exhausted but happy. I woke up to the cutest breakfast ever. Room service knocked on the door with a pink breakfast to celebrate “Rose Couture”. Everything was pink – the pancakes, the brioche, the crepes, … both my eyes and my taste enjoyed the breakfast thoroughly and it was definitely a great surprise! 🙂 After breakfast I was styled once more to be shot for Elie Saab.

We also produced a funny gif and I am already curious to see the result. Last but not least Elie Saab had thought of one last point on the program. Together with some German journalists we went to Saint Honorare Island on a speed boat, where a tasty closing dinner was waiting for us. From the beginning to the end it was a very special event for me and I owe Eli Saab a grand thank you for the amazing time.

From Cannes we didn’t have to travel far because we went to Nizza next. Here I will be shooting for the next four days for a secret project – but I can promise you it will be exciting!

Right now I am sitting on my bed with my laptop after 16 hours of shooting and I am looking forward to sharing the results of all that work with you soon… there already are some impressions on snapchat. 🙂

P L A N S: After the Cote d’Azure I will make a quick stop in my home town Hamburg to repack our suitcases. Afterwards we will fly to Rhodes. Together with my dear Alex (what a surprise ;)) I will go on a press trip that I am looking forward to a lot. I have already seen a couple of pictures and I am sure it will be amazing. I have never been on Rhodes before and I am very excited to go. 🙂

N E W  I N: After talking continuously about my lack of shopping opportunities in the last updates, I was pretty busy the last seven days. After quite a while I had the time to browse through ASOS and bought lace-up espadrilles for about 20€ (!!!) and a pair of Levi’s jeans with fringes, a kimono-jacket and some relaxed backless basic-tops. Also, after all the work I’ve done in the last weeks I treated myself to a pair of golden Gucci shoes. The heels are only mediocrely high and I am thrilled that I can actually wear them for a whole day without being in excruciating pain. And then there was a package sent by my recent crush Storets – I ordered jeans with pompoms and two great blouses. My mom accepted the package for me but I am already thrilled to try everything on as soon as I am in Hamburg.

Hallo ihr Lieben,

die vergangene Woche war wirklich ein unheimlicher Marathon. Und obwohl ich heute noch gar nicht alles mit euch teilen kann, möchte ich euch unbedingt schon einmal ein paar Eindrücke geben.

R E V I E W: Meine vergangene Woche beginn mit einem Shooting Trip  nach Mallorca. Meine Agentur hatte eine wunderschöne Finca in Pollenca, im Norden von Mallorca gemietet, wo ich mit einigen anderen Bloggerinnen und mit Alex einige ereignisreiche Tage vollbracht habe. Mein Highlight war auf jeden Fall das Shooting für Net-A-Porter, von dem ich euch im vergangenen Update bereits ein Preview gezeigt hatte. Ansonsten habe ich es besonders genossen mal wieder Palma zu erkunden. Gemeinsam mit Alex bin ich entlang des Hafens geschlendert, habe die Kathedrale bestaunt und ein unheimlich leckeres Avocado Toast bei La Molienda genossen. Aber auch Pollenca selber war wirklich entzückend. Wir hatten zwar etwas Pech mit dem Wetter, aber trotzdem war es schön durch die kleinen Gassen des kleinen Dörfchens zu schlendern und die vielen Treppen zum Aussichtspunkt zu erklimmen. Die wahrscheinlich schönste Shooting-Location war die Bucht Es Calo des Moro. Wir sind aus dem Norden der Insel zwar fast 1,30h gefahren (obwohl Mallorca recht überschaubar ist ;)), aber das türkise Wasser und die rötlichen Felsen waren die Fahrt auf jeden Fall wert. Ich habe bereits einige Fotos und freue mich jetzt schon sie euch in den kommenden Tagen zu zeigen. 🙂

Von Mallorca aus ging es nach Zürich. Hier stand mal wieder ein Shooting für Sarenza auf dem Plan. Leider, leider, leider war in Zurück unheimlich schlechtes Wetter. Wir haben unser Bestes getan, aber die meiste Zeit haben wir uns in einem Café verkrochen und Unterschlupf gesucht.:) Von daher konnte ich es kaum erwarten nach dem kurzen Zwischenstop in Zürich ins wunderschöne Cannes zu fliegen. Obwohl ich mit meiner Familie als Kind öfter in Südfrankreich Urlaub gemacht habe, war ich noch nie in Cannes und habe mich umso mehr auf meinen Besuch der Filmfestspiele gefreut. Elie Saab hatte mich eingeladen, worüber ich mich unheimlich gefreut habe. Elie Saab ist für mich eine der glamourösesten und luxuriösesten Marken der Welt und umso aufregender war es, zwei Tage mit dieser tollen Marke zu verbringen. Untergebracht waren wir im Grand Hyatt Hotel Martinez, was eine der Anlaufstellen für Stars und Sternchen während der Filmfestspiele ist. Während meines Aufenthalts hat auch bspw. Blake Lively hier gewohnt und vor dem Hotel war immer eine große Menschentraube. 😉 Mit Elie Saab hatten wir ein volles Programm. Zunächst hatte ich ein Kennenlernen mit Francis Kurkdjian, der “die Nase” von Elie Saab ist. Er hat mir einige der wichtigsten Düfte im Hause Elie Saab und auch den neuen Duft “Rose Couture” vorgestellt, in den ich mich total verliebt habe (ich meine natürlich den Duft ;)). Hinterher ging es dann zu einem leckeren Lunch direkt am Wasser und anschließend wurden mir die Ready-to-Wear und Haute Couture Kollektionen vorgestellt. Und was soll ich sagen? Die Haute Couture Kreationen waren atemberaubend schön. Ich habe wahrscheinlich mehr als eine halbe Stunde damit verbracht Materialien zu fühlen und Stickereien zu bewundern.:)

Als ich anschließend auf mein Zimmer kam, erwarteten mich schon Haar und Make-Up und ich wurde für mein erstes großes Red Carpet Event zurecht gemacht. Nach einem Fitting mit Elie Saab ging es dann mit dem Team zu einem köstlichen Dinner und hinterher zum Red Carpet. Wir haben uns “I, Daniel Blake” angeguckt, was ein ziemlich gesellschaftskritische rund sehr trauriger Film war. Besonders schön war es, das Screening mit den Schauspielern des Films anzugucken, die alle sichtlich gerührt waren. Abends bin ich dann tot müde und glücklich ins Bett gefallen und wurde morgens von dem wohl süßesten Frühstück geweckt. Es klopfte an der Tür und der Room Service brachte uns ein Pink Breakfast zur Feier des “Rose Couture” Dufts. Alles war rosa – Die Pancakes, das Brioche, die Crepes, und und und. Es war ein wahrer Schmaus – auch fürs Auge 🙂 Die Überraschung war auf jeden Fall gelungen.:) Hinterher wurde ich dann wieder gestylt, da ich hinterher noch für Elie Saab geshootet habe. Wir haben auch ein lustiges Gif produziert und ich bin schon sehr gespannt auf das Resultat.  Last but not least hatte sich Elie Saab noch einen weiteren Programm-Punkt ausgedacht. Gemeinsam mit einigen deutschen Redakteurinnen hat uns ein Speed Boat zur Saint Honorare Insel gebracht, auf der ein leckeres Abschluss-Essen auf uns warte. Von Anfang bis Ende war es ein unheimlich besonderes Event und ich danke Elie Saab für das unvergessliche Erlebnis.

Von Cannes aus hatten wir es nicht weit, da wir anschließend nach Nizza gefahren sind. Hier shoote ich die nächsten vier Tage für ein noch genau geheimes Projekt – Aber es wird auf jeden Fall spannend. Ich sitze grade nach einem 16 Stunden Produktionstag mit meinem Laptop im Bett und freue mich nach ganz viel Arbeit schon bald alles mit euch teilen zu können…. Ein paar Einblicke gab es bereits auf Snapchat.:)

P L A N S:  Von der Cote D’Azur geht es kurz in meine Heimat Hamburg um umzupacken, da es hinterher direkt nach Rhodos geht. Gemeinsam mit meinem lieben Alex (welch eine Überraschung ;)) nehme ich an einer Pressereise teil, auf die ich mich ganz besonders freue. Ich habe schon einige Bilder gesehen und ich glaube es wird wunder- wunderschön. Ich war noch nie auf Rhodos und bin schon unheimlich gespannt.:)

N E W  I N: Nachdem ich die letzten Wochen immer von einer Shopping Flaute erzählt habe, war ich in den letzten sieben Tagen fleißig. Nach langer Zeit habe ich endlich wieder bei ASOS durchs Sortiment gucken können und mir Schnürr-Espadrilles – für ungefähr 20€!!! – eine Levi’s Jeans mit Fransen, ein Kimono-Jäckchen sowie entspannte rückenfreie Basic-Tops bestellt. Außerdem habe ich mich nach einer arbeitsintensiven Zeit mit einem Paar goldenen Schühchen bei Gucci belohnt. Der Absatz ist nur mittelhoch und ich bin ganz begeistert, da ich die Schuhe ohne Problem einen ganzen Tag tragen kann, was bei Absatz ja nicht immer der Fall ist. Und dann gab es da auch noch ein kleines Päckchen von meinem aktuellen Crush Storets – Wo ich mit die Bommel Jeans und zwei tolle Blusen bestellt habe. Meine Mama hat das Paket in Empfang genommen, aber ich freue mich schon alles anzuprobieren, sobald ich in Hamburg bin.
